Wilderness Ranch Retreats at Deer Creek

Are you looking for a unique place to have a family reunion, hold your company's Board meeting, take the family on a vacation, or meet like-minded people on a photography, painting, bird watching, or spiritual retreat? Does the idea of hiking into a remote, spectacular wilderness canyon in southern Utah, with the help of friendly llamas carrying your gear, sound interesting? If so, then we have just the spot for you to visit.

Located in southern Utah's beautiful canyon country, near the small town of Boulder, there is now such a place. Since 1992 the Red Rock 'n Llamas Ranch has been offering commercial guided llama pack trips in the Grand Staircase/Escalante National Monument, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, and Rainbow Bridge National Monument. This year owner and guide Bevin McCabe is expanding her business to include retreats centered on a spectacular 120 acre property in Deer Creek Canyon. The retreat site is situated on a perennially flowing creek, abounds in slick rock scenery, contains ancient Anasazi sites, is home to an abundance of plant and animal life, and best of all, offers plenty of peace and quiet. Guests to the retreat site stay in either tents or comfortably appointed yurts which look out over the canyons. Delicious home cooked meals are served family style in a centralized dining facility with spectacular views of the area.

While in the canyon your group has many options to fill their time. Hiking trails are available out our back door, plus the adjoining lands of the Dixie National Forest and Grand Staircase/Escalante National Monument. If you feel the need for a guide to lead your group on a hike, why not also take a llama to lunch! These guided hikes go out for the day and offer llamas to carry a deliciously prepared lunch, drinks, and any gear the group has. Horses are available for day rides on your own or with one of our guides. Opportunities are available for longer hikes or overnight adventures with llamas. If relaxation is your main interest then there is no need to even leave the retreat site. Local creeks are abundant with fish, historic Anasazi sites are a close walk, and photographers or painters have endless subjects in every direction. In the evening why not enjoy an outdoor barbeque or campfire?

If all this sounds good, then give the Red Rock 'n Llamas a call and make a reservation today. Book your family vacation, gathering of friends, or corporate meeting soon as space is limited. Also watch for our specialty retreats including photographers, painters, writers, and natural history workshops and spiritual retreats.
